Description

Carry Your Big Dog Comfortably—Wherever the Day Takes You

The BigDog Comfort Carrier is a full-body backpack carrier designed for dogs who are too large for ordinary pet carriers. Available in sizes from S/M to XXXL, it supports dogs from 14–88 lb (6.5–40 kg)—including dedicated XXL and XXXL options for bigger breeds.

Whether your dog gets tired before the walk is over, needs help getting home, or simply cannot keep up for the entire outing, the carrier lets you bring them along without leaving them behind. Wear it on your back or front, or use the reinforced handles for short, controlled transfers.

For larger dogs: XXL is recommended for dogs weighing 50–66 lb (22.5–30 kg), while XXXL accommodates dogs weighing 66–88 lb (30–40 kg).

Why Large-Dog Owners Choose It

🐕 Made for Bigger Dogs: Unlike conventional pet backpacks designed mainly for small breeds, the BigDog Comfort Carrier offers full-body support in sizes suitable for dogs weighing up to 88 lb (40 kg).

🎒 Hands-Free Back Carrying: Wide padded shoulder straps distribute the load across your upper body, allowing your dog to rest horizontally behind you with their head and legs comfortably outside the carrier.

🤍 Comfortable Full-Body Support: The wraparound body panel, padded neck support and breathable mesh help support your dog without enclosing them inside a cramped bag.

🖐️ More Than One Way to Carry: Wear it on your back or front, or use the reinforced lift handles when helping your dog into a vehicle or moving them over a short distance.

Designed Around Your Dog’s Comfort

  • Four individual leg openings help keep your dog naturally positioned.
  • Padded neck support cushions the front opening.
  • Breathable mesh lining improves airflow around the body.
  • Wide pressure-relief shoulder padding makes carrying more comfortable for the wearer.
  • Adjustable straps and buckles help stabilize the carrier during use.
  • Reinforced lift handles provide additional control during short transfers.
  • Reflective trim improves visibility in lower-light conditions.
  • Convenient potty opening helps make longer outings more practical.

When the BigDog Comfort Carrier Can Help

  • Bringing a tired dog home after an outing
  • Carrying a senior dog for part of a walk
  • Helping your dog navigate crowded public spaces
  • Short outdoor trips when your dog cannot walk the entire way
  • Moving your dog to or from a vehicle
  • Supporting dogs with temporary or ongoing mobility limitations

This carrier is designed for carrying and short-distance mobility support. It does not replace veterinary care, a rehabilitation harness or an approved vehicle-restraint system.

Choose the Right Size

Do not select a size using weight alone. Measure your dog while they are standing naturally. The most important measurement is the distance between the center of the front and rear legs. Then use chest girth, back length and weight to confirm the fit.

Size Front-to-Rear Leg Distance Chest Girth Back Length Recommended Weight
S/M 5.1 in / 13 cm 19.3–24.8 in / 49–63 cm 11.8 in / 30 cm 14–20 lb / 6.5–9 kg
L 6.3 in / 16 cm 25.2–28.7 in / 64–73 cm 15 in / 38 cm 20–29 lb / 9–13 kg
XL 8.7 in / 22 cm 27.6–33.1 in / 70–84 cm 16.5 in / 42 cm 29–50 lb / 13–22.5 kg
XXL 13.8 in / 35 cm 29.1–34.6 in / 74–88 cm 17.7 in / 45 cm 50–66 lb / 22.5–30 kg
XXXL 16.5 in / 42 cm 32.3–37.8 in / 82–96 cm 21.3 in / 54 cm 66–88 lb / 30–40 kg

Fit tip: If your dog is between sizes or their measurements fall into different rows, prioritize the front-to-rear leg distance and chest girth. The carrier should support the body without pressing tightly around the neck or leg openings.

Back or Front Carrying

For most larger dogs, wearing the carrier on your back provides the most natural weight distribution. Front carrying may be useful when you need to keep a closer eye on your dog. Before moving, tighten the shoulder and chest straps so the carrier remains close to your body.

Let your dog become familiar with the carrier at ground level before the first full carry. Begin with a short session and confirm that their neck, chest and legs remain comfortably positioned.

Important Safety Notes

  • Do not exceed the maximum recommended weight of 88 lb (40 kg).
  • Always check the straps, buckles, seams and handles before use.
  • Make sure all four legs are positioned through the correct openings.
  • Keep the carrier close to your body and maintain secure footing.
  • Start with short carrying sessions and monitor your dog’s comfort.
  • Ask your veterinarian before use following surgery or with a serious injury.
  • Never leave your dog unattended in the carrier.

Black or Limited-Production Green

Both colors provide the same supportive structure and features. The green version is produced in smaller quantities and is priced separately. Choose the color you prefer, then use your dog’s measurements to select the correct size.
