Pro Plus Rear Wheelchair for Small Dogs
Pro Plus Rear Wheelchair for Small Dogs
Everything in the Pro — with more size options, a better leg support system, and a dual-harness design that takes pressure off the neck.

Who is this wheelchair for?
This wheelchair is for small dogs with rear limb weakness or paralysis who need a mobility aid built for serious daily use — and whose owners want the most comfortable fit available. The Pro Plus shares the same robust frame and premium tyre quality as the Pro (B1), and adds three meaningful upgrades: more size options, a vest-style leg support harness, and a dual-harness body support system that distributes weight more evenly across the torso rather than concentrating it at the neck.
-
For dogs who spend significant time in their wheelchair each day, these differences matter. A harness that fits precisely and distributes weight well reduces fatigue and discomfort over long wear periods — and the wider size range means more dogs can get that precise fit.

What's upgraded from the Pro
- More size options — the Pro comes in XS and S. The Pro Plus adds XXS and XS-Wide, covering a broader range of small breed body shapes including very small dogs and breeds with wider chests.
- Vest-style rear leg support — replaces the foam loop rings used in the Pro. The vest wraps around the rear legs more evenly, distributing support across a larger surface area for better comfort during extended wear.
- Dual-harness body support — combines the traditional chest harness with an additional belly band. The chest harness secures the front of the body; the belly band supports the abdomen from underneath. Together they distribute the dog's weight across the torso rather than concentrating it at the neck and shoulders — reducing strain during long daily use.
Why this wheelchair
- Heavier-gauge aluminum frame — robust structural rigidity for dogs in heavy daily long-term use.
- Premium EVA tyres — better grip, quieter rolling, and improved shock absorption for smooth movement on varied surfaces.
- Dual-harness support system — chest harness plus belly band distributes body weight evenly, reducing neck and shoulder strain during extended wear.
- Vest-style rear leg support — wraps the rear legs comfortably for better support and less pressure than foam loops.
- Four size options — XXS, XS, XS-Wide, and S for a precise fit across a wider range of small breed body shapes.
- Fully adjustable frame — height, width, and length all adjust to your dog's exact proportions.
Ideal for
- Rear limb paralysis or weakness requiring long-term daily use
- IVDD and spinal cord conditions
- Degenerative myelopathy
- Active dogs who move quickly and put more load on their equipment
- Dogs with wider chests or very small body frames not covered by standard XS/S sizing
- Dogs whose owners want maximum comfort during extended daily wear
- Senior dogs needing reliable daily mobility support
Size guide
Fit is determined by body measurements, not weight alone. Measure your dog's body length (neck base to tail base), back height (ground to hip), and body width (widest point of ribcage) while they are standing. These three dimensions are what determine the right size — weight is a reference point only.

See the size chart below to match your measurements to the right size.

If you're unsure, send us your measurements and we'll confirm the fit before you order.
Usage tips
- Start on flat surfaces for the first few sessions — grass and uneven ground can be introduced gradually.
- Begin with 5–10 minute sessions and increase duration as your dog adapts.
- Adjust the belly band so it supports the abdomen snugly without restricting breathing or normal movement.
- Check the fit of both the chest harness and belly band regularly — a well-fitted wheelchair should keep the spine level and the rear legs gently supported off the ground.
- Keep the frame dry; wipe down after outdoor use.
Not sure this is the right fit?
Start here — most dogs need a rear-wheel chair, but it depends on which legs are affected:
| My dog's situation | Recommended type |
|---|---|
| Rear legs weak or paralysed, front legs healthy | Rear-wheel wheelchair |
| Front legs also weak or unreliable | 4-wheel wheelchair |
| Very elderly dog with overall body weakness | 4-wheel wheelchair |
| Post-surgery rear limb recovery, front legs fine | Rear-wheel wheelchair |
If a rear-wheel chair is right for your dog, here's how the models compare:
| Model | Best for | Key feature | Size |
|---|---|---|---|
| A1 — Lightweight | First-time users, sensitive dogs, warmer climates | Lightweight frame, breathable mesh | Small |
| A2 — Lightweight | Same as A1 for medium dogs | Lightweight frame, breathable mesh | Medium |
| A3 — Lightweight | Same as A1 for large dogs | Reinforced frame, 11" wheels | Large |
| B1 — Pro | Heavy daily use, long-term wear | Heavier-gauge frame, premium tyres | Small — XS, S |
| B2 — Pro Plus ← you are here | Maximum comfort, wider size range, long-term daily use | Dual harness + vest leg support | Small — XXS, XS, XS-Wide, S |
| C1 — Foldable | Dogs wearing wheelchair most of the day | Dog can rest without removing | Small–medium |
All rear-wheel models support dogs with rear limb weakness — the difference is in size options, comfort, and how long your dog needs to wear it each day. Still not sure?
